Previous Work

Before joining forces with Joe Bowman, Brian spent several years at DRP Law Firm in Asheville, NC. After that, he enjoyed a brief stint in joint-practice with Joel B. Stevenson, PLLC, also based in Asheville. Both firms are now closed following the retirements of their founding members.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Brian worked in government, where his experiences ranged from social work and SSA disability/Medicaid appeals to investigation of criminal welfare fraud. He also spent several years in the building and construction industry.

Personal Life

Brian was born in Asheville, NC, and he is a fifth-generation native to the area. Growing up, his family lived in West Asheville (long before it became hip) and, later on, Madison County. He attended public schools and played multiple sports in high school (football, wrestling, and track/field). Today, Brian continues to enjoy organized sports–albeit only as a spectator now –and remains an avid fan of the UNC Tar Heels and Carolina Panthers. His other passions include whitewater boating, trout and muskie fishing, woodworking, and hunting.
